New Artwork – Ian Rogers – a Gatling of Woodpeckers

August 29, 2012 · by Ian Rogers · in Calligraphy and Lettering, Drawing, Illustrators, My Sketchbook

Another collective noun – today, a Gatling of Woodpeckers. I hadn’t really thought about it before but the sound of a woodpecker’s TOK TOK TOK TOK TOK TOK TOK TOK does kind of sound like one of those old-fashioned hand-crank machine guns….

New Artwork – Ian Rogers – a Dole of Turtles

August 21, 2012 · by Ian Rogers · in Calligraphy and Lettering, Drawing, Illustrators, My Sketchbook

Another collective noun – today, a Dole of Turtles. When turtles are basking in the sun (as reptiles will do), they will crawl atop one another, jockeying for advantage. Or perhaps they just like it. The turtle lives ‘twixt plated decks Which practically…
